" Et tu Brute ? "
Experience is the teacher of all things .
Julius Caesar , one of the most remarkable work of Shakespeare have taught this lesson to everyone. This piece of work is liked and loved by large group of people. This is not a story or a play but instead a real life situation which we face .
What we wish , we readily believe , and what we ourselves think , we imagine other think also.
This line holds true for all millennials. We are living in a world where prejudice is much much greater than reality. The fact is not as important as our thoughts are. We think whatever we can and then we all make decisions irrespective of reality. The situations might be different for all but the thought process is always same. Instead of hurting ourselves with the truth , we feel happy living with the false. This problem is not of our generation only but it holds to each and every generation. Sometimes realities are different. Sometimes what we think to be true is not so. Sometimes what we wish for isn't going to happen. And accepting this all facts is important.
We do mistakes but what important is not feeling sorry for them instead learning from them. Experience doesn't come from mistakes but instead it comes from learning from mistakes. It's useless to commit the same mistake again and again if you don't understand anything from it. Life teaches us lot of things sometimes doing wrong or right with us or sometimes with other . But what important is learning from them.
Julius believed Brutus so much. Even though Brutus never liked Caesar because of his power or position but yet Caesar treated him like his own brother . Sometimes the one we love the most break our trust. Sometimes for their own profit they decieve us.
" Et tu brute ? " Means "you too Brutus ". The line itself depicts range of emotions.
Isn't it is heart breaking that Caesar was not killed by someone he doesn't know but instead by someone he believed the most.
Sometimes over trusting someone is harmful. No one knows what goes on someone's mind when we talk to them. Life is a tragedy . The one we trust the most is also the one who break us the most .
Julius Caesar is a fantastic play for all those who don't understand the difference between friend and enemy , trust and hoax.
Shakespeare who lived in late 16th and early 17th century taught us all this. Even though time has changed but characters are still same. The part about which he spoke that time is valid for this century too.
In between leading life and becoming successful , we all have almost forgot the moral values . We still prefer power and position upon life long people. And this will go on and on.
Their is a famous saying , " it's easy to get a friend like Brutus but hard to find one like Antony ".
This line holds true for our generation and all the generation that had gone or that will come. Very few lucky people have friend one like Antony .
Antony who even after the death of Caesar didn't left his side. He had option to leave Caesar and come to Brutus side and live happily . Yet he choosed his friendship over everything. This is really remarkable.
We are living in a era where one can't trust their family members even. And then we had got someone like Antony who won't leave us no matter what happens. This is a learning. Learn to value morals and love over everything.
What Julius Caesar taught us?
1) Never kid yourself : No matter what happens don't fool yourself with your wrong idiologies . Like Brutus and Casssius did.
2) Moral conflict between oneself is dangerous : Their was a moral conflict between how Brutus was and how he ended everything.
3) Ambition and conflict : Great ambitions leads to great conflicts. Caesar's ambition lead Brutus to become the part of conspiracy.
4) Power of speech : Isn't it important to discuss how Antony proved Caesar correct and Brutus wrong. He didn't fought a war neither opposed them when they said ill words related to Caesar. Instead he showed the real nature of Caesar to the public. And he let the people of Rome to decide who was correct for them .
5) Listen everyone but trust few : Brutus and Antony , they both were important to Caesar . But at the end he listened to Brutus , leading to end his life.
The act is about so many things. It teaches us lots of things. Sometimes , patience is most important key to win any war. Sometimes , the strongest even cry when something unexpected happen. Sometimes , the betrayal is not by some out sider but instead by our close ones. Sometimes , learning from experience is much greater than making false wish or hopes.
